The Doctor Who chess set!

Hey guys!

Earlier this year one of my best friends turned 21. Brad and I have been friends for about 16 years and he's the best. We're also both very big Doctor Who fans. I wanted to get him the perfect birthday present but nothing seemed quite right so I decided I would create something to tell him just how much I appreciate him.
I had been toying with the idea of making a Doctor Who chess set for a fair while and I knew it would be quite the creative endeavour to embark on. This seemed like the perfect gift for Brad - it's intelligent, quirky, fun, bright and exceptionally cool, just like him - and I knew I had to make it for him. His favourite Doctor is the eleventh Doctor so all the pieces are based on characters from his series.
So here it is, the Doctor Who chess set.
Each piece is handcrafted out of Premo polymer clay and has felt on the bottom of the base. I bought the glass board because I don't actually know how to make chess boards.

The two sides are as follows:

Good
King - The Doctor
Queen - River Song
Bishops - Amy Pond and Rory Williams
Knights - Ood
Rooks - TARDIS
Pawns - Jammie Dodgers

Bad
King - The Minotaur
Queen - Madame Kovarian
Bishops - Silence
Knights - Cybermen
Rooks - Weeping Angels
Pawns - Daleks

Tell me what you think! Ask me things about my art and craft endeavours. I'll be happy to hear from anyone who happens to be reading this.
