Drawings of cute things!

Hey everyone!
So lately I've been drawing a lot of really cutesy kitsch things, cool illustrations and stuff too. It's really different to my usual stuff but I'm enjoying it. I've been inspired and I just wake up and want to draw and draw and draw. Alas, I have essays about Kanye West and Chardin to write and chemistry to study so I'm going to have to cut back on the drawing a little this week. But I thought I'd share some of these cool things with you!

In other news, I've decided to continue my chemistry studies because I'm genuinely just in love with it. Sure, I'm mediocre at best when it comes to chemistry, but it inspires me and I love studying it and understanding how things works and why and applying this knowledge to my work. We learnt about metal complexes and coordination chemistry last week and I guess that really just made me realise that I should keep going. It's exciting and maybe I struggle to understand sometimes, but the fact of the matter is that this is important and I'm going to use this knowledge. My lecturer actually sent me this amazing article about the use of spectroscopy in art conservation and reading it really just made me realise that I'm doing exactly what I love and it's making me happy and keen to learn.
To me, making art is an exploration. And I have this incredible passion to understand the materials I use to make art with. I want to know where these pigments come from, the way which these materials are made and how they react with others, the chemistry behind it all. This kind of thing just blows my mind. The more I understand the materials, the more effectively I use them to portray my concepts, including those works which are celebrations of the actual material. Yeah, sure, chemistry is hard but I'll slog through it because this is helping me. I'm happier, passionate and inspired and this is really good.

On another note, the drawing of Marie Antoinette was in celebration of my 22nd birthday, which happened to coincide with the 220th anniversary of Marie Antoinette's death. There you go.
I'm also using the drawing of Kanye West as a title page for my essay for my religion class.
Everything else is just really cute because reasons.

Hope you're all doing well!
From Mon
